TYPES OF GOALS

The concept of organizational goal has been explained in general terms above ,organizational goals exist ,at each organizational level. hence,an organization needs to establish many goals that vary by organizational level.it's identified 4 levels of goals.each organization needs to define mission ,strategic ,tactical and operational goals.

*MISSION GOALS:
An organization's mission is a statements of its basic reason for existence ,the basic mission statement should be directed towards the satisfaction of a human need that will always exist ,it is a relatively permanent parts of an organization's identify ,it unifies and motivates members of the organizations.the mission statement sets the stage for strategic goals.
*STRATEGIC GOALS:
Strategic goals are formal statements of purpose made by top management ,they are broad statements ,which define what the organization formally wants to achieve in the future ,they are established for the overall organization ,for ex. maximize profit,contribute to community welfare etc. their are also known as official goals.
*TACTICAL GOALS:
Tactical goals are established by middle manager,they focus on operationalized organizational efforts to achieve strategic goals ,they reflect what an organization is actually trying to do,tactical goals may or may not be widely publicized.

*OPERATIONAL GOALS:
Operational goals are established by lower level managers,they specify results that are to be accomplished by eaach department ,they have build in standards,which can be used to determine whether goals are bign met. for ex. manufactures sell 40,000 televison sets this years. it has clearly measurable standard concerning volume and time ,operational goals tend to be the most specific and measurable.
