Channel role:- It refers to the activities that the channel member have to perform ,every channel member have certain role to play a channel,every channel member also expect the role whether channel members and such channel member has different role raccording to it's position in the channel,such position may be of channel leaders ,channel follower,the role of it channel is vital for the smooth functioning of distributes systems that means the distribution channel systems smoothely only when all the channel members perform their work in their own position.


CHANNEL POWER:-Channel power is the ability of a channel member or channel leader to influences and control the other channel members ,that mans channel power is the capacity of a channel leader or member that can make other channel member act as it desires ,channel power can obtain from different sources.

*REWARD:-A channel leader or channel member obtain the power by providing financial rewards or other benefit to other channel members ,channel member who have benefited by such reward are easily control by the channel leader.

*COERCION:-The channel member can obtain coercive power by givening punishment to other channel members,for ex. wholesaler's can exercise coercive power by stooping the supply of product to the retailer who fallers to the particular work.

* REFERENT:-Sometimes the middleness show a great desire to sale the strong and popular brand ,in this situation the manufactures of such brands can exercise referent power over such middlemen,so referent power is obtain by producing popular and strong brands.

*EXPORTS:-Exports power is obtain by the channel members who have a long marketing experiences and especial knowledge to distributes a products in a particular market and they obtain such power on the belief that their experiences and knowledge will do better in the distribution systems and every channel member not use the export channel.

*LEGITIMATE:-Legitimate power is obtain from the contract among the channel members ,every channel members has to do , according to provision of contract so this is the legal power of channel members.


CHANNEL CONFLICT:-
Channel conflict refer to conflict among channel member ,conflict arises in the change when thier is no effective co-ordinatior among the channel members ,in this sense channel conflict is the opposites of channel co- ordinatination channel conflict is such a situtatain where dissatisfaction ,less effort and non co-operation appear, distribution systems involves severals individual and institution and they may not have similarly characteristic and objective ,this creates conflict in the channel.

conflict may be 3 types.
* vertical conflict:- it is the conflict between channel member for example conflict between channel member of different level within the some channel for ex. conflict between the whole seller or retailer.
*Horizontal conflict:- it is the conflict between channel member of same level within the same channel. for ex. conflict between the whole seller to us.
and retail to retail .

*Multi-channel conflict :- it is the conflict between the channel member of different distribution channel .it occurs when the organ, usage and 2 or more channels distribution the same product in the same market.ex.
